Going for the Goal

The Iowa Soccer Association and Iowa Barnstormers are combining resources and tackling a significant community void in Iowa. The two organizations have initiated plans for a $6 million, 100,000-square-foot, climate-controlled athletic structure in the Greater Des Moines metro area.
The proposed State Indoor Training Center (SITC) will serve as a centrally located, year-round statewide venue for competitive and recreational soccer, as well as various other sports and community wellness activities. The new facility also provides a solution to the Barnstormers need to replace Veteran’s Auditorium, creating a new, permanent practice site for the local Arena Football League (AFL) franchise.
